Depression Feedback: Only a mental health professional can give you a qualified diagnosis of what’s wrong with you and help you determine the best way to get your problem under control. Good luck.

Depression Feedback: This is really a difficult thing for anybody who is not a lisenced psychiatrist to answer. You need to visit a psychiatrist and be properly diagnosed.Don’t let amateurs make a diagnosis for you.It is too important!
No psychiatrist could diagnose you based on what you have said.

Depression Feedback: It all depends on your other symptoms but im pretty sure youre not bipolar. You might be depressed but you need to give more details.

    Best of luck to you

Depression Feedback: You wouldn’t know unless you got a proper diagnosis from a psychiatrist.

If you don’t want to talk to your parents, talk to a school counsellor about how you’re feeling. They’ll give you advice and help you overcome your depression.

That’s what these counsellors and school psychologists are there for. Take advantage of them. Go have a talk with one. You’ll feel so much better after you do.

Depression Feedback: Bipolar disorder is a very specific thing, and it’s hard to diagnose yourself without medical help. However, bi-polar depression is usually a mixed state between something called “hypo-manic episodes”, or mania as it’s commonly called, interspersed with bouts of depression. Mania is a state of feeling euphoric, where you talk a lot, often very quickly, feel like you have a decreased need for sleep, and in some instances do irrational “risky” things like gamble, go on spending sprees, have frequent one night stands, things like that. This can vary from person to person, of course.

This is contrasted with bouts of heavy depression where you feel you can’t get out of bed for days, cry frequently & generally feel incapable of getting enjoyment from life. That’s the other side of the pendulum, so to speak.

So in your case, feeling happy and then sad later on is not really enough to call “bi-polar”, and is actually quite human and normal. Many people like yourself have the same experience without being categorized as bi-polar, so you shouldn’t convince yourself until you see a doctor that you are.

By the way, I’ve been bi-polar all my life, and when I started seeing a doctor about it, I never had to involve my parents at all, and if you’re over 18 the same will be true for you. It sounds like you could probably benefit from a session with a Therapist just to be sure, and it would definitely help get some your feelings out in the open with someone who could help you figure out if you really need therapy at all.

Hey, it’s going to be ok. There’s always help to be found, so keep your chin up and get some medical advice while you’re at it.

    Your friend,

    Elijah the cat :)
